This work deals with the spanish attitude to the Economic and Monetary Union as is reflected in the two most widespread spanish newspapers El País and El Mundo. At the beginning it talks about the development of the monetary system from the Bretton Woods agreements to the European Monetary System and the monetary integration of the European Union.
