The bachelor thesis addresses the question to what extent
information about hearing impairment is beneficial and useful
for students. In the theoretical part, the themes that are
presented in the workshop of the Tichý svět organisation are
described, as the definition of hearing impairment, the Deaf
community, communication systems, etc. The theoretical part
also includes an explanation of the concept of awareness, the
helping professions and a closer introduction to the Tichý svět
organisation. The practical part defines the objectives of the
thesis, research questions, methodologic and conclusion of the
research. The main aim of the thesis is to analyse the
awareness of high school students studying helping professions
on the topic of communication of people with hearing
impairment. The thesis uses quantitative and qual-itative
research (questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and
observations).
