Although higher education institutions are currently relatively well prepared for the study of students with special educational needs, only a small percentage of pupils with visual disabilities currently study university. The aim of this thesis is to find the motivation of these students to study at university. The theoretical part of the thesis connects themes related to personality, study, professional preparation and employment of individuals with visual impairment. In the practical part the motivation of pupils to study at universities was investigated in the form of interviews. The work testifies to the need to improve awareness of pupils with visual disabilities about university studies.
