This thesis studies the phrasemes in tennis news written and
published in January 2023 in the online version of El País. The
thesis focuses on phraseology as a discipline, describing its
units, various approaches to its characteristics and
classification, journalistic texts, especially the news and the
use of phrasemes in such texts. The practical part consists of
the corpus of phrasemes which we classify according to Corpas
Pastor and we seek their existence and meaning in
phraseological dictionaries. We try to divide them into groups
according to their meaning and usage of certain words.
