Online Training Course

Digital transformation demands a highly efficient platform for project work, business intelligence and enterprise insights. Unfortunately, the tool that many of us use to do the actual work — spreadsheets — hasn’t changed significantly since the 80s. Nowadays computers are able to provide the performance and functionality needed to citizen users. 

The goal of a newly created open-source project management tool (github.com/Lumeer) is to provide a single solution to support current business models. This means providing various views of the same data to allow smooth communication, prevent duplication of effort and allow moving work forward in a seamless manner. However, such a powerful system might be quite complex to navigate and control.

The goal of this thesis is to develop a training course for this new open-source project management tool. The course will consist of chapters each containing a series of short videos (3-10 minutes each), focusing on various aspects of the tool. The course should start from basic concepts and get deeper with subsequent chapters. There should be a sample project created throughout the series. Each chapter could end with a practical test. At the end of the course there should be a thorough test and a complex task (e.g. a home work) with a sample solution. 

There should be an easy to follow manual that shows how to update individual parts of the training with user interface updates. It would be great to have the individual lectures tagged or labeled according to what parts of the tool they show (for easier reference and updates). There should also be complete scripts to the videos so that subtitles can be created easily and content searched for.

The training material should focus on maximizing user engagement and knowledge retention. Important aspects of both of these areas should be analyzed and used in the materials.

The training will be published on YouTube, Udemy or some online training platform. A couple of test users should go through the training and provide feedback on the material created.

While creating the training materials, the student will also analyze the application from the UI and UX perspective and will suggest appropriate improvements.
