Comparative and Functional Analysis of Treponema pallidum a Leptospira biflexa genomes; Insights into the Unique Biology of Spirochetes
Abstract
Treponema pallidum ssp. a Leptospira ssp. jsou bakterie patřící do rodiny spirochét. V obou skupinách lze nalézt významné lidské patogeny (původce syfilis a leptospirózy). Cílem této práce bylo identifikovat rozdíly mezi jednotlivými kmeny T. pallidum, a definovat genetické determinanty přispívající k toleranci k toxickým látkám v rodu Leptospira. Celogenomová sekvence tří kmenů T. pallidum (Mexico …more
Abstract
Treponema pallidum ssp. and Leptospira ssp. are bacteria belonging to the phylum of Spirochetes, and both genera comprise important human pathogens that can cause the diseases syphilis (Treponema) and leptospirosis (Leptospira). The work described in this thesis aimed to identify differences between individual T. pallidum strains at the nucleotide level and to identify mechanism that may be contributing …more
