Master's thesis
Formalization of service structure in the Conceptual Layered Smart City model
Abstract
Conceptual Layered Service Model …more
Abstract
Rapid urbanization has accelerated the development of smart city concepts, which rely on complex service systems to enhance urban sustainability and livability. Effective management of these systems requires robust modeling approaches. This thesis focuses on the Conceptual Layered Service Model of Smart City, a conceptual model designed to represent service structures across multiple domains. However …more
Thesis description
The aim of this thesis is to process and formalize the Conceptual Layered Service Model of Smart City so that it can be transformed into a structure suitable for machine processing and future analytical applications. Building on the existing conceptual framework, the student will propose a formal representation of the model, including precisely defined entities, relationships, and rules that describe the interconnections and dependencies among smart city services across different layers and contexts. The student will focus on designing the overall system architecture and data model capable of supporting automated analysis. The expected outcome is a formalized and structured description of the Conceptual Layered Service Model, providing a foundation for future system implementation and serving as a methodological contribution to the development of data-driven tools for smart governance within the Service Systems Laboratory research agenda.
