The theme of this thesis is sexual assistance for people with
disabilities. The text in the first part deals with the
sexuality of disabled people and their differences in
physically, then mentally handicapped individuals. The second
part of the thesis deals with sexual assistance. First, it
defined the concept itself, then follows the specifications of
the service, along with specific experience of foreign
countries, where this intimate and legal assistance has been
operated. The third part presents the process of negotiation
about setting of the service and brings the reactions of
experts, academics and involved NGOs and associations. In the
conclusion of the thesis the text deals with the legal aspects
and the existing legislation in force in the Czech Republic.
There is also outlined possible future developments and
possibilities for further development and exploration of this
new social phenomenon.
