The master thesis “Václav Prokůpek in Context” means to
introduce Prokůpek's work in connection with the contemporary
context and also regarding author's life. There is one mainly
biographically oriented chapter, mapping the key factors that
influenced Prokůpek's work, followed by another two chapters
that deal with specific interpretations. The various contextual
influences and the development of Prokůpek's work are
illustrated on three literary motifs: fateful woman, father,
and familial ties.
