This bachelor thesis deals with media image of 1951 United Kingdom general election on pages of “Rudé právo”. The aim of this thesis is to identify discourse models and media image that newspaper constructs in context of followed election. This is achieved by using discourse analysis defined by Paul James Gee. In thesis is also used theory modus operandi defined by John B. Thompson. Fundamental events relevant to analysed media image are listed in historical context chapter. Analysis is based on theoretical foundation consisted of social construction of reality theory (Peter L. Berger – Thomas Luckmann). Sample selection criteria, operationalized research objectives and analysis method are listed in methodological section. This thesis is based on analytical section. In this part of thesis is examined text analysed and findings are summarized in conclusion.
