Production of CO2 in karst soils is one of the most important process that influences recent karst processes such as speleothem growth or corrosion. The factors influencing the production and its seasonal variability are relatively little known. The main goal of the work was to determine these factors and to contribute to better understanding their impact on soil CO2 production. Based on adopted data and literature review, temperature was found as a main factor. Another factors are humidity, soil profile depth/characteristics, and partly vegetation cover. In addition, the work refers to environmental risks connected with land use and its impact on karst processes.
