Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou stereotypů a archetypů o Afroameričanech a jejich zobrazení v komentářích v rámci veřejných diskusí k novinovým článkům publikovaným na internetu. Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis offers an analysis of the stereotypes and archetypal constructions regarding African Americans as they appear in public comments to the newspaper articles published on the Internet. I propose to investigate stereotypes and archetypal constructions regarding African Americans as they appear within contemporary American race discourse, specifically by cataloguing and analyzing archetypal constructions that implicitly appear in public comments on race-related articles appearing on web sites and in major online publications. In analyzing these stereotypes in terms of archetypal constructions, I will compare them with five historically established stereotypical African-American characters, with the goal of helping determine the extent to which these or other archetypes continue to structure contemporary U.S. discussions about African-Americans.
