The bachelor thesis focuses on fictional chronicle called Rok
na vsi (The Year in the Village) of Alois and Vilém Mrštík,
which captures the life of South Moravian village in the late
19th century. At first, Rok na vsi is included in the genre of
the fictional chronicle. Secondly, this thesis captures and
summarizes general conception of the chronicle from
the first edition of the years 1903-1904 to nowadays. Following
part of the thesis includes the character reception of Cyril
Rybář, the central character of the chronicle. Last part of the
thesis is focused on analysis the central character and his
relationships with other characters of the chronicle. The goal
of the thesis is to show the importance of character Cyril
Rybář as a dramatic element of the Rok na vsi.
