With the expansion of the cloud and virtualization, the need for automation is raising constantly. Emphasis on speed, consistency and time to market are necessary, so that system administrators can focus on creating value instead of focusing on repetitive tasks. With the automation, higher reliability and faster deployments are possible, as automation provides a more fail-safe environment.
The thesis will discuss the integration of Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) in a fast-growing enterprise. The thesis aims to bring insights on nowadays real-world enterprise automation trends. The objective of the thesis is to show how the implementation process - more precisely decision making in terms of IaC (Configuration Management) - has to be carried out.

• Background, motivation, and theory for DevOps and the more systems-engineering focused IaC will be discussed. Topics such as configuration management tools will be presented from the system administrators point of view.
• A public survey about configuration management tools will be conducted. The survey will consist of questions regarding usability, the complexity of configuration and similar properties as they contribute to the overall software quality.
• The practical approach to evaluation will describe mechanics and work with the discussed tools, to support the integration of IaC.
