This bachelor’s thesis, a systematic review, evaluates the effectiveness of exercises on unstable surfaces in patients with chronic ankle instability. An analysis of seven randomized controlled trials from 2015 to 2021 showed that training on unstable surfaces improves both objective and subjective ankle stability. However, this type of training did not lead to significant changes in ankle stability compared to some other forms of active therapy, such as resistance band exercises. Regular active rehabilitation is therefore essential for successful treatment.
