This bachelor’s thesis (11991 words of key text) on the given subject focuses on analysis of the current situation, conditions, effects and problems connected with utilisation of current methods of education of autistic children. The author clarifies the current procedures by which society attempts to deal with continued integration of persons from this group of mentally disabled citizens. On the basis of personal contact with children suffering from a defect of the autistic spectrum and their closest social surroundings, professionals from the social and pedagogic field in facilities for persons with this medical disorder and study of expert literature, the author endeavours to assess the benefits and barriers of the current system of supporting education of autistic persons. Using references to specific student cases the author analyses the system used in the facilities of the Nursery, Elementary and Secondary School in Prague 10 and attempts to describe the options of further development of care and education of autistic persons. The author places emphasis on the necessity of the whole of society supporting development of the possibilities for education of handicapped citizens as the key element of society’s care leading to their full, or possible social integration.
