The Power BI tenant gathers monitoring data such as properties and activities of Power BI, e.g., reports, capacity utilization, licenses of users, and many other data points that may be useful for analysis. By analyzing this data, a company can save money on unnecessary licenses and have a better overall awareness of the usage of Power BI. While Microsoft provides a tool for administrators to observe an overview of this metadata, it is insufficient because it only provides a basic view of the data with limited metrics. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a system in the Azure environment that allows companies to automate downloading and analyzing metadata from the Power BI tenant. The download will be periodic and will take data using the Microsoft REST API and store it to an Azure Data Lake storage. Orchestration will be managed through Azure Synapse Analytics. As a use case, a Power BI report will be created to provide an interactive overview of the data. This report will be divided into thematic pages where the user can analyze different insights and trends in the data.
