The pro-Russian disinformation campaign: a case study of the Czech Republic

Abstract

Předkládaná bakalářská práce, psaná ve formě policy paper, představuje analytický rámec pro chápání proruské dezinformační kampaně v České republice. Výzkum je zakládán na principu case study, nabízí přehled o problému a následně analyzuje jeho tři častá řešení. Závěrem práce jsou pak doporučení k efektivnímu boji s dezinformační kampaní.

Abstract

This bachelor thesis, written in a form of a policy paper, presents an analytical framework for understanding the pro-Russian disinformation efforts with a special focus on the Czech Republic. The research is based on a case study approach, is offering an overview of the problem and subsequently analyzes three common solutions. Lastly, it proposes a set of recommendations to face the disinformation campaign effectively.

Thesis description
This bachelor thesis, written in a form of a policy paper, presents an analytical framework for understanding the disinformation efforts of Russian Federation with special focus on the Czech Republic. The research is based on a case study approach and tries to analyze some of the factors playing role in average citizens trusting the disinformation campaign. It further uncovers the topics, instruments and channels of the disinformation campaign, and lastly it proposes a set of specific tools and recommendations to face this disinformation campaign effectively.
