The new Criminal Code came into force on 1.1.2010. The most
significant change is new categorization of criminal acts. The
new code introduces so-called bipartition and divides criminal
acts into crimes and misdemeanors. The first part of thesis
deal with the Tudory of categorization of criminal acts, the
nit drala with histprical development of crime. This thesis
also compare category of crime with other European countries,
in particular Slovakia, France and Germany. In the last section
I suggest possible solution of shortcomings of new
categorization and make recommendations de lege ferenda.
