The thesis draws attention to pupils’ coping with school attendance and education. The environment and situations in which pupils learn and grow contribute in a significant way to their education and their awareness, as a good environment can secure challenging and inspiring stimuli for children’s progress. Shrnutí dosavadního poznání The educational environment is a topic widely considered by teachers and authors. Průcha, for example, deals with such terms as educational reality and educational environment, which he uses to discuss elements influencing the process of learning (2002). Cíl práce The aim is to examine the factors that have an impact on the growth of children in the school environment, compare the factors of the Czech and the Taiwanese schools, and, following the findings based on the foreign system, propose a set of recommendations that would improve the quality of the school environment. Pracovní postup The research is going to take place in a Czech lower secondary school and a Taiwanese equivalent – junior high school. There are two groups of respondents – pupils and teachers. The pupils in the age of 13, 14 and 15, which corresponds to the 7th, 8th and 9th grade of the Czech school system and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of Taiwanese system, are the main point of the observation. Organizační zabezpečení práce October-November: literature search and information processing December-January: observation data processing; creation and distribution of questionnaires over the Christmas break February-March: questionnaires data processing; data comparison and conclusions drawing Předpokládané využití výsledků The results gained from the observations, questionnaires and the data comparison will be used for a compilation of a diploma thesis and its publication. All results will also be provided to both Czech and Taiwanese participants of the research. Anotace projektu The diploma thesis aims to compare the specifics of the Taiwanese and Czech lower secondary school environment in order to discover the possibilities and potentialities of each. The thesis describes the system of Czech and Taiwanese education as well as such factors of the educational environment that influence the growth and education of children. The data gained from observations and questionnaires describe the differences of each system, and the following comparison of the data refers to the possible benefits of each.
