Thesis/Dissertation: Bc. Michal Bubeník: Machine-learning based prediction of substrate specificity profiles for haloalkane dehalogenases
Master's thesis
Machine-learning based prediction of substrate specificity profiles for haloalkane dehalogenases
Predikce substrátové specificity haloalkan dehalogenáz s využitím strojového učení
Abstract
Práce vychází ze změřených dat …more
Abstract
This thesis deals with the computational prediction of substrate specificity of enzymes from the haloalkane dehalogenase family, which are of numerous biotechnological applications. The motivation is to identify new enzymes from this family by screening several thousand candidate sequences from a database and applying the prepared predictors to these sequences, as such a procedure could not be performed …more
Thesis description
The graduate will solve the following specific tasks:
- study of problems and literature search in the field of enzyme engineering and machine learning,
- generation of features for enzymatic reactions for substrates and enzymes used in the experiments,
- training of machine-learning based predictors and analysis of their output and predictive power.
To solve the practical part of the diploma thesis, the student will use the Python environment and scikit-learn library.
The thesis will be written in English.
