The goal of the thesis is to develop a web atlas of proteins - an interactive application for visualization of large amounts of annotated microscopy data. The webpage enables end users to search for their protein of interest and indicates its localization within human cells in a set of microscopy images. A key part of the solution is the design of cloud-based IT infrastructure and database that are connected to existing computational resources. Different subsets of the data are made accessible to external end users, who are allowed to submit additional metadata themselves.

The project will be carried out in partnership with CeMM, the Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna.
