Zadání práce
Society is changing these days as well as question of education. Education became a very important part of a social life and also life in general. It affects every person individually and forms and shapes our society and social environment. Education is not meant only for children any more. It is understood as a life process. Educating adult learners has many reasons that are very positive for society. An educated society works very well and gains competitive abilities. In my bachelor work I am going to deal with this topic. I think that this information is important not only for future teachers but also for every person, so that we can understand and respect other social groups. The aim of my thesis is to examine the question of education of older people. I would like to describe specifics and differences in education of older adults from other age groups, advantages and disadvantages of studying at an older age. I would like to know how older adults themselves think and how society thinks about them. Are there any obstructions for them? Do they think they have equal conditions in getting a quality education? Do they perceive any prejudice? Are they motivated to further education? If yes, I would like to search for issues that can influence their motivation. I want to study if further education can be influenced by previous educational attainment or their social background and why they want to educate themselves (new technologies, getting in touch with new people, broad their skills, filling their free time,…). I would like to compare this with interviews with some people, who are between 65 to 80 years. These people are from different backgrounds, have different education and they are women as well as men.
