The aim of this thesis is to compare the content and structure of Labyrinth Biology & English textbooks and workbooks with the Czech Framework Educational Programme. It will consist of two parts. The theoretical part will focus on the history, development, opinions, and use of CLIL method at Czech schools. The development of CLIL in the Czech Republic will be compared with other European countries. It will examine the options of study materials and textbooks available. The practical part will analyze textbooks and workbooks Labyrinth Biology & English, published by Channel Crossing, within the Czech Framework Educational Programme. The thesis will look at the appearance and format of studied books, the setting of objectives and the way the books lead to fulfill them, the accuracy of continuity of curriculum, the correspondence of the books’ content with the Framework Educational Programme and Biology textbooks in the Czech language for lower secondary schools. The missing, insufficiently developed, or additional materials will be created in a form of worksheets, presentations, and games and then tested in practice at one of the primary schools in Brno. The assessment of these materials will be also part of the thesis. Structure: 1. Introduction 2.
