Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá třemi kapitoly z knihy Cormaca McCarthyho „Krvavý poledník“ a jejich překladem do českého jazyka. Praktická část práce je tvořena mým vlastním překladem těchto tří kapitol. Teoretická část se soustředí na život a dílo Cormaca McCarthyho a na analýzu mého překladu dle teorií Jiřího Levého a Dagmar Knittlové. Poslední kapitola práce se zabývá analýzou literárního stylu Cormaca McCarthyho, a tím, jak se tento styl odráží v mém překladu.

This diploma thesis is concerned with three chapters of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian and their translation into Czech language. The practical part of the thesis consists of my own translation of the three chapters in question. Thesis description
The focus of this diploma thesis are three selected chapters from Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West, and their translation into Czech language. The practical part of the thesis consists of my own translation of the aforementioned chapters. The theoretical part focuses partly on Cormac McCarthy, his life, work, and on the analysis of his literary style, and partly on the analysis of my translation in accordance with linguistic theories by Dagmar Knittlová and Jiří Levý.
